(More customer reviews)The blade does get damaged by cutting nails, however, I am building a deck and here's what I learned. The "worn out" blade still cuts the nails because of moderate hand pressure, heat, and friction. The teeth did not really make the "nail cut" much faster because the teeth were gone almost immediately. I save the worn blades for cutting nails "only" and I use the newer "toothed" blades for everything else.
